Start by meeting with our Landscape Design team, and then they’ll take care of the rest for you. If you know which plants you want, but don’t have the means to bring them home, we’ll deliver them to you and have them professionally planted.
We work with your HOA standards and recommend plants that would thrive the best in your lawn. If you have a lot of rocks or sand, certain plants might grow better than others. We also work around obstacles like pools, patios, and porches to make sure if there’s an incident, your new trees won’t cause more damage.

Preparing Your Yard For Professional Planting
Step 1: Flag Your Yard
We’ll create a design for your yard based on your preferences and feedback. Once you’re satisfied with our design and have scheduled your delivery date, we’ll give you flags to mark where your trees and plants will be installed.

Step 2: Delivery & Planting
Our professional planters will come on our scheduled date and start planting your new landscaping. Our team will dig the holes marked with the flags. Once the hole is dug, we’ll add fertilizer to ensure proper growth. Then the plants are put in the holes and covered with dirt, mulch, and sufficiently watered.
Step 3: Work with our Tree Services To Keep Your New Plants Healthy
Lots of big plants need lots of water and specialty fertilizers. If you’re not sure which is best for your plants, or how often you need to water them, trust Sun Valley to help!
Our staff is always happy to help when it comes to taking care of your trees. If your trees aren’t looking their greenest, our professional arborists can come out and help restore your trees to full health.

Here are our dos and don'ts for preparing your yard for planting
On The Day of Delivery
- Sun Valley Will Call To Confirm Your Delivery Time
- Clear your driveway of vehicles and create a clear path for our workers to park their vehicles to move plants
- Lock up all pets inside
- Please let us know if there is a gate code to access your property.
- If your plants are marked as "Delivery Only," they will be left at your curb
- rescheduling and add-ons to any order must be made within 48 hours of delivery
- Sun Valley is not responsible for moving, relocating, or damages to any irrigation pipes, electrical gas, sewer, drainage, or landscape lighting
- Sun Valley is not responsible for moving any dirt from a jobsite.
Preparing The Location
- Make sure all the flags are in the ground
- Make sure all stumps are removed from the planting area. Sun Valley does not remove stumps
- Measure all gates and doorways to ensure your plants can be moved to where they need to. This means around air conditioners, stairwells, and planters
- If any plants are being put in pots, please provide the dirt for the pots
- Sun Valley does not provide mulch. Please have mulch provided if you want your landscaping mulched by our team
- Water your new plants according to care guides
- Tree stakes (if applicable) can usually be taken out after a year or so. If you are in an area with high winds, the tree stakes may need to stay in place for longer.
